Antonia P. Zapata, 91, of Port Charlotte passed away January 31, 2017. She was the daughter of Gabriel and Ofelia Perez, born May 10, 1925 in Puerto Rico. Antonia worked as a translator for the US State Department in Washington, DC. She was a past President of Circulo De Puerto Rico Club. Antonia enjoyed reading, sewing, making cabbage patch dolls and drapes. She especially loved to cook and spend time with her family. Antonia will be greatly missed by her daughters, Rosa Zapata and Brunilda (Richard) Boatwright-White; sons, William (Nancy Jo) Zapata and Jamiez Zapata; sister, Carmen (Carlos) Rodriguez; grandchildren, Gailen, Henry, Kristen, Jason and Jay; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Stevie, Parker, Blake, James, Isabella and Ava. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guillermo. A gathering of family and friends will be held at 2pm, Monday, February 6, 2017 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services, Punta Gorda.
