Anthony Zarnowski

Anthony Zarnowski, 95, North Port passed away November 7, 2006. He was born February 21, 1911 in Harrison, NJ, the son of Anthony and Franza Zarnowski. Anthony was a tool and die maker for General Motors, and retired after 35 years of service. Anthony was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Great Meadows, NJ. He was also the former Mayor of Hope, NJ, and came to North Port from Hope in 2006. Anthony will be greatly missed by his wife of 61 years, Elsie; daughters, Marie (Bob) MacDougel of Riverview, FL, and Micki Scanlon of New Jersey; sons, David (Kelli) Zarnowski of North Port, and Joseph (Carol) Zarnoff of Rotonda; 19 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sons, Jonathan, Sonny, and Woody, and his sister, Natalie Black. Services will be private; burial will take place in Hope, NJ. The family requests memorial donations be made to TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care, 1144 Veronica Street, Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
