Anna K. "Katy" Barclay, 85, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away Friday, September 21, 2012 at Tidewell Hospice, Port Charlotte. Katy was born August 18, 1927 to Oscar and Mabel (Grady) Landfried in Akron, Ohio. Katy was a restaurant owner and school bus driver in Woodsfield, Ohio where she lived for 23 years. Katy was an avid gardener, artist, cook, baker, bowler and especially, fisherman. She had won blue ribbons at the county fair for her baking and flower arrangements. At age 74, she bowled her first 600 series at Oconee Lanes in Seneca, South Carolina, where she lived for 7 years. Her fishing stories are too numerous to mention. Katy reared her children under the name Anna Ball. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, David Barclay; daughter, Deborah (Eugene) White of Seneca, South Carolina; son, Randolph (Michelle) Ball of Punta Gorda, Florida; son, Clyde (Beverly) Ball of Mogadore, Ohio; step-son, Kevin Barclay of Bend, Oregon; step-daughter, Michelle Barclay of Gloucester, Massachusetts; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, James Ball of Woodsfield, Ohio in 1999. In her diary Katy had penned "Nature is beautiful and dying is part of nature so it must be beautiful to die" A service to celebrate Katy's life will be at 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services.
