Cecelia Ann Douglas, age 64, of Port Charlotte passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, Florida. She was born January 16, 1953 to Rosemary (Hullivan) and the late Edward Mellas. She married Paul Douglas in 1994 and they enjoyed over 22 years of marriage together. In addition to her mother, Ann is survived by four sisters, Rosemary Daoust of Michigan, Catherine Carrell of Michigan, Cindy Forrest of Oklahoma and Charon (Mark) Pung of Michigan; four brothers, Chris (Debbie) Mellas of Michigan, Chuck (Lori) Mellas of Illinois, Cteve (Dahlia) Mellas of Arizona and Craig (Kialeen) Mellas of Michigan. In addition to her father, Ann was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Robert Carrell. Ann loved life and enjoyed it fully with her family, especially her husband Paul. They travelled extensively and saw the world together. Much of their travel involved sailing trips throughout Europe, Australia and many islands. Ann was passionate about dancing; it could be line dancing or couples dancing, she loved it all! Ann enjoyed working in her yard. She pursued planting and landscaping which of course meant that her favorite TV channel was HGTV. She also was involved in a lot of home decorating, redesigning and remodeling. She and Paul did this together many times and it was a big part of their lives. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 10:30 am at the New Day Christian Church in Port Charlotte, FL. An additional memorial service will be held in Michigan at a later date.
