Anita Gallagher

Anita Gallagher, 91, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012. She was born to James and Lottie (Murray) Brown on September 14, 1920 in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. Anita received her diplomat degree in nursing from St. Thomas Hospital School of Nursing, Akron, OH in 1941. She married Bernard Gallagher in 1947 and was a wife, mother and homemaker. Anita worked as an RN in labor and delivery room for over 20 years in St. Paul, MN. She was passionate about assisting babies into this world and even upon retirement in 1986 continued to have a place in her arms for a baby. The joys in Anita's life included special kitty "Precious", swimming, needlework, crosswords, travels to see family and daily lunches with friends at the Skyview Caf. Anita will be remembered by her children, Mary Ann (Kerry) Byrne, Paul (Debbie), Charlotte, Mark (Mary) and Ed (Carolyn) and grandchildren, Erin, Thomas, Rachel, Brian, Stephanie and Kristi and two great-grandchildren with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard. A funeral mass will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at San Antonio Catholic Church.
