Alice Joan Muenchausen

Alice J. McClain Muenchausen, 91, of Port Charlotte passed away Friday, April 27, 2012 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital. She was born December 10, 1920 in Newport, RI to John J. And Alice J. (McGann) McClain. Alice married Robert T. Muenchausen in El Paso, TX in 1944 and spent most of her married life living in Illinois. She moved from Round Lake, IL to Port Charlotte in 1973. Alice will be remembered as a positive influence on others by her spunky personality, sense of humor and strong will to be independent. Always giving credit to the Lord Jesus, she thanked Him for helping her through the difficulties that come with age. Her favorite prayer for others, when she felt they needed guidance was, "God please enlighten them". Indeed, those who knew Alice well were inspired by her faith, wisdom and love of life. Alice will be greatly missed by sons, Howard of Punta Gorda and Ross of Los Alamos, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 1983 and son, Colin in 2003. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Salvation Army.
