Alfred “Al” O. Domann, 80, of Punta Gorda passed away November 23, 2007 after a short illness. He was born April 18, 1927 in Port Huron, MI to Otto A and Alice B. (Eveningred) Domann. Al served in the US Army during WWII in Austria. He married Donna T. Groat on June 13, 1953. He had a career as a semi-truck driver until he retired in 1985 and moved to Cape Coral, Florida and then to Punta Gorda. After retirement he was an tile installer and left his mark on many homes. Al enjoyed many activities which included stock car racing, boating, snowmobiling and traveling in a motor home. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 54 years, Donna; son, Fredrick (Kathy) Helmer of Fort Gratior, MI; daughter, Kathy (Pat) Warren of North Fort Myers, FL; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; brothers, Arthur (Donna) Domann of Smith Creek, MI and Walter (Azilla) Domann of Mesa, AZ; sisters, Margaret (Leroy) Hart and Mary Hill both of Smith Creek, MI; many loving nieces and nephews. Al was preceded in death by his son, David Helmer. A private service will be held in North Carolina at a later date.
