Aleigha Paige Toma, 6, of North Port, passed away on Saturday July 22, 2006 in Woodland Hills, CA. She was born February 24, 2000 in Orlando, FL, to Gary and Chantal Toma. Though Aleigha never spoke any audible words in this life or possessed the ability to see through her beautiful green eyes, she silently captured the lives and overwhelmed the hearts of so many in this community. Born with occipital encephalocele, a rare condition that attacks the development of the brain, and given only one year to live by the doctors, Aleigha was granted five more by the mercy and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. It was His plan and purpose to use her to touch a multitude without any words, even until her death. As we miss having her in our lives we rejoice in knowing that for the first time she will be running through a bed of flowers and see our Lord and Savior face to face. Her promotion has finally come as we see that her work here on earth is done. We cannot wait to join her in a place where “He will wipe every tear from our eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Rev. 21:4) She will be greatly missed by her loving parents Gary Toma of North Port and Chantal Pierre Toma of Woodland Hills, CA; brother Jordan M. Toma of Woodland Hills, CA; and many other family and friends. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday, July 27 at First Baptist Church of Port Charlotte with a service in celebration of Aleigha's life following at 7:00 with Rev. Bill Frank officiating. A memorial fund has been set up to assist the family. All donations are being accepted by First Baptist Church of Port Charlotte for the Toma family, 20035 Quesada Ave, Port Charlotte, FL 33952; (941) 629-0444.
