Albert Codi

Albert 'Al' Codi, 95, of Punta Gorda formerly of Fort Myers, FL passed away Friday, August 17, 2007. He was born July 1, 1912 in Bronx, New York. Albert graduated from James Monroe High School and was an outstanding varsity baseball and football player who played ball with Hank Greenburg. He enjoyed reading, playing golf, and sports remained his passion. Albert worked for Anaconda Wire Corp during WWII then as a manager with Westchester Motor Lines of Gardner, MA and finally with his brother, Patrick , together they established Codi Bros Exxon service station in White Plains, New York in 1959. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 73 years, Regina Ledermann Codi; children Albert F Codi, Jr of Pt Charlotte; Marie Codi Skamarycz of Worcester, MA and Martha Codi Raak of Pittsburg, PA; brother Joseph Codi of New City, NY along with 12 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. A family service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care, 1144 Veronica Street, Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
