Trudy B. Campbell

June 22, 1951 — May 20, 2021

Trudy Bea Campbell, 69 of Punta Gorda, Florida formerly from Rosebush, MI loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021, after a month-long hard and courageous fight with Covid.

Trudy was born on June 22, 1951, daughter of the late Ethel Ann “Butch” and Robert Wagner.  She married the love of her life and her forever best friend Ted Graham Campbell May 19, 1973.  Trudy worked for Mt. Pleasant Public Schools and Dean transportation as the best bus driver any kid could of ever had.  She loved her job and the families she met along the way and most remain family friends today.  She always went above and beyond for her kids and attended their events, games, 4H activities, and even enjoyed having end-of-the-year parties at her house.  She loved her life and the people she shared it with.  She was the true matriarch for her family.  She always welcomed those she loved as family and there was always a seat at their table for extended family and friends.  She was the life of any party and if she was involved it was sure to be a good time.  Her favorite place was Higgins Lake and she always said it was a little slice of heaven.  She also loved going out on the boat in Florida and navigating for Ted so no one would get lost or stuck.  She was one of kind and could do anything she set her mind to.  She was one of the toughest people I knew.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends and will leave a void to all those who knew her.   She was a good friend to many and was always there for a listening ear.  She would always give it to you straight even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear.  She loved watching and listening to her Grandkids play softball, baseball, and Volleyball.  She became the “softball Gramma” to many.

Trudy is survived by her husband, Ted Campbell of Punta Gorda, FL, her children Shellie Wilson of St. Louis, MI, Teddy (Kristy) Campbell of Wixom, MI, Amanda (Rico) Recker of Cape Coral, FL, Grandchildren Larissa (Dakota) Lamas of Flushing, MI, Codey (Taylor) Wilson of Bay City, Ashlyn and Nick Campbell of Wixom, MI, Addison and Natalie Recker of Cape Coral, Fl Adrianna and Austin Doro of Cape Coral, FL and Great Grandchildren Waylynn Lamas and Milo Wilson, brother Tom (Lana) Means of St. George Utah, Sister Terrie (Bill) Phelps of Mt. Pleasant, MI and Sister in Law Helen Campbell of West Bloomfield, MI.

Trudy was preceded in death by her parents, Butch and Bob Means, brothers Ted Means and Bobby Means, her wonderful In-laws Albert and Vivian Campbell and her most precious granddaughter Courtney Ann Recker.  Cremation has already taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later time TBD.
