Myrna Schiemer

Myrna Elaine Schiemer, 81 of Punta Gorda, formerly of Columbia, Illinois passed away March 24, 2016 in Punta Gorda, Florida. She was born Nov 3, 1934, in East Carondelet, daughter of the late Lester and Louise Van Pelt. Myrna graduated from Dupo High School, earned her associate degree in registered nursing from Belleville Area College and later earned her Bachelor of Arts in Nursing from St. Francis College in Joliet, Illinois. She worked as an operating room nurse and served as the Head Nurse for the Open Heart Surgery program at Southwest Regional Medical Center, retiring in the late 90's. She enjoyed shopping, cruising, cooking, sewing and spending time with family. Myrna will be greatly missed by her husband, Robert Schiemer; her daughter, Lynn (Andy) Reeves; son, Joseph (Margaret) Bina; grandchildren, Molly Bina, Katie Aukerman, Lisa (Eric) Beard and Matt (Jessica ) Aukerman; two sisters, Wilda "Midge" Vanover of East Carondelet, Illinois and Velma Crabtree of Belleville, Illinois.
