Jean Vornheder

June 29, 1933 — June 6, 2013

Jean Vornheder, 79, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013. She was the daughter of Kelsa and Goldie (nee Allman) Cockerham, born June 29, 1933 in Brownstown, Indiana. Jean graduated Brownstown High School Class of 1950, graduated from Ball State University receiving her BS and earned her Master's at University of Cincinnati. She was a teacher for 33 years in Milford, Ohio and moved from Lebanon, Ohio in 1996 to this area. She was an active member with Burnt Store Presbyterian Church, serving as a Deacon for 6 years and involved with the Presbyterian Women Group. Jean was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and enjoyed traveling around the world with her husband seeing 55 different countries. Jean will be greatly missed by her husband of 42 years, Paul; daughter, Terry Dee (Edward) Conway; sons, Jeffrey Alan (Amy Stier) Brown and Mark J. Vornheder; brother, Delbert Cockerham; sisters, Ann Turner and Delores Goss; three grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Betty Harbaugh. A memorial service to celebrate Jean's life at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Burnt Store Presbyterian Church.
