Frank "Earl" Krueger, 90, of Punta Gorda passed away on Friday, July 16, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of Frank and Lillian (De Corsa) Krueger, born May 29, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois. Earl served in the US Navy as a Gunner's Mate 2 during WWII and in Subic Bay, P.I.. After leaving the service, he worked as a chef for the Old Orchard Country Club in Arlington Heights, IL. He retired after 21 years of service as a Chemical Operator at Morton Chemical in Ringwood, IL. Earl then worked for his daughter, Liz, for 8 years at J & L Pool Co in McHenry, IL. In 2000, he and his wife moved to Florida with all their children to enjoy retirement. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, the American Legion and volunteered at Charlotte Regional Medical Center. Earl will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who's life was filled with joy, laughter and love. Laughter was Earl's "best medicine" all his life. Earl loved painting and many friends and neighbors have a "work of art" to remember him by. He also had a green thumb and cultured a wonderful garden every year.
