Frances J. Dempsey

Frances Janet Dempsey, age 88, of Punta Gorda, Florida went home to be with the Lord on December 4, 2019.
She was born on January 8, 1931, in Holden W.Va. in Logan County. She was preceded in death by parents, Kessler D. Rollins and Shirley (Marcum) Rollins and the love of her life, husband, Ernest Dempsey.
She was a member of the Parsley Bottom Freewill Baptist Church, Lenore W.Va. and Fellowship Baptist Church, Barboursville W.Va. Frances was a graduate of Marshall University with degrees in elementary education and art. She taught school for over 30 years at Lenore Elementary, Lenore High School and in Cabell County Schools.
Survivors include seven children: Denise Kay Sayre (Wayne) of Punta Gorda Florida, Barry Ernest Dempsey (Mary Ann) of Weston W.Va., Stephen Earl Dempsey (Susan) of Charleston W.Va., Camille Ann Dempsey of Punta Gorda Florida, Rhonda Lynn Hall (Jerry) of Bridgeport W.Va. , Rev. Rodney Wayne Dempsey (Patti) of Forest Va. and Jeremy Duryea Dempsey (Lisa) of Rio Rancho New Mexico.
She is also survived by her siblings, Jack Rollins (Juri) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Peggy Underwood of Ashland Ky, Dansel Rollins of Lexington Ky, Sandra Mayberry (Tom) of New Orleans La., and Linda Rollins John (Winfield) of Marietta, Ga.
Her legacy includes 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 1 great, great-grandchild.
She was passionate about her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and her family. She painted up to the very day she passed and blessed friends and family with many treasured paintings. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
The family is planning a private memorial service.
