Donald Bruce Hines

Donald Bruce Hines, 71 of Punta Gorda passed away January 21, 2009. He was born August 26, 1937 in Boston, MA to James and Hilda (Kearney) Hines. Donald served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and then worked as an field service engineer for General Electric before retiring. He was a member of the Punta Gorda Fishing Club and Boat Club, Punta Gorda Isles Civic Center, The Gideons and was a member of and served on the Board of Trustees with Peace River Baptist Church. Donald was an avid fisherman, enjoyed playing golf with his church buddies and boating. He enjoyed working with the youth ministries of his church and teaching vacation bible school. Donald will be greatly missed by his wife of 37 years, Frances; daughters, Yolanda Hines and Beth (James) Hines-Bailey; sons, Eric Robert Hines and Eric Christopher Hines; brother Ryland Hines; sisters, Gwendolyn Walters and Helen Melilo; mother and father in law, Francis and Joyce Currie along with his little dogs , Mandy and Stewart. A celebration of Donald's life will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Peace River Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Stultz officiating.
